A TVET Camp or previously known as Bosconian Technical Educators Camp (BOSTEC) seminar-workshop was conducted at Don Bosco Technology Center, Punta Princesa, Cebu City last May 1-10, 2017. The 10-day capacity building event composed of workshops and seminars provided opportunities to all FIS TVET Training Directors, Instructors, and Lay-staff was the following objectives:
(a) to increase their knowledge and information on Salesianity, Salesian Values Formation, and competency-based training standards, (b) to gather information on FIS-FIN movement for a “One DB TVET Philippines” and,
(c) to set future directions for the FIS TVET centers.
The camp was attended by 65 representatives from different Training Centers: DB Punta, DB Balamban, DB Pasil, DB Liloan, DB Borongan, DB Victorias, DB Ilo-ilo, and DB Mati.
The following inputs were given:
a. Preventive System in the Classroom and Shop, and a Salesianity Retreat by Fr. Mario Baclig, SDB
b. Competency Based Training (CBT) conducted by Dr. Eugene Ynclino IV
c. Salesian Values Formation for Training Centers by Fr. Fidel Orendain, SDB
d. SYM Frame of Reference for Training Centers developed by Fr. Joriz Calsa, SDB
e. Project Ownership-One DB TVET and SHS TVL Projects discussed by Dr. Leah Samson
f. LMPs SWOT and Detailed Planning conducted by Fr. Jose Dindo Vitug, SDB.
The 10-day camp concluded with a commencement exercise to acknowledge those who successfully finished the TVET Camp 2017.
